Wednesday Daytime Class
Meditation is essentially the willing of the Good. - Sangharakshita
A opportunity to meditate together and look at aspects of the Buddha’s teachings, reflecting on their relevance to our daily lives – with talks, workshops and discussion. The class is suitable for both newcomers and those with more experience. Meditation instruction is available, except on practice mornings (see below). Sessions start with meditation, and continue after a tea break with a talk, workshop or discussion. Creche facilities are also available for children from 6 months to 5 years, supported by experienced staff. Child protection policy.
The first class of every month is a practice morning, devoted to meditation and ritual practices – a wonderful way to start the month.
Wednesdays 10.35am-12.30pm. Free, by donation
Our theme this summer is 'A Garland of Buddhist Terms'. Week by week we will be looking at frequently used words like 'conditionality', 'nirvana' and 'karma'. Looking deeply into the meanings and relevance of these terms takes us into the heart of the Buddha’s teaching.
