Wednesday Daytime Class
Meditation is essentially the willing of the Good. - Sangharakshita
A opportunity to meditate together and look at aspects of the Buddha’s teachings, reflecting on their relevance to our daily lives – with talks, workshops and discussion. The class is suitable for both newcomers and those with more experience. Meditation instruction is available, except on practice mornings (see below). Sessions start with meditation, and continue after a tea break with a talk, workshop or discussion. Creche facilities are also available for children from 6 months to 5 years, supported by experienced staff. Child protection policy.
The first class of every month is a practice morning, devoted to meditation and ritual practices – a wonderful way to start the month.
Wednesdays 10.35am-12.30pm. Free, by donation
This summer we will be exploring the meaning and significance of Sangha; spiritual friendship & community. This will include stories from the Buddha's life, our personal stories, the Triratna movements' stories & exploration of Dharma texts. When the Buddha's cousin asserted that friendship was a significant part of one's life and practice, the Buddha replied, "Ananda, you're wrong, friendship is not half of the spiritual life; it is the whole of it."
