A Buddhist Village
Work or 'right livelihood' has always played a significant part in the Buddha's teaching. For those that wish to, our businesses offer the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals in an ethical context.
The businesses are run co-operatively with people being paid according to their needs rather than as a reward for their contribution. Profits from the businesses are either re-invested or given away.

| In the Centre the bookshop stocks a wide range of books on Buddhism, covering all the major Buddhist traditions. They also sell cards, small gifts, incense and meditation cushions.

Right next door to the Buddhist Centre, the award winning Wild Cherry serves great freshly prepared vegetarian and vegan food throughout the day. It also opens for an all day breakfast menu on Saturdays. A small but delightful garden is very popular in the summer. On the first Sunday of the month there will be live accoustic music and a veggie roast dinner! Several committed Buddhists have their studio space at the London Buddhist Arts Centre. Globe Community Project is also based here. More information. Bodhi Tree host school visits to the London Buddhist Centre and talks and workshops in schools for groups of all ages . They also conduct a programme in schools introducing stilling exercises/meditation as part of a school's culture and daily routine for pupils and staff.
