Work or 'right livelihood' has always played a significant part in the Buddha's teaching. For those that wish to, our businesses offer the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals in an ethical context.
The businesses are run co-operatively with people being paid according to their needs rather than as a reward for their contribution. Profits from the businesses are either re-invested or given away.

| In the Centre the bookshop stocks a wide range of books on Buddhism, covering all the major Buddhist traditions. They also sell cards, small gifts, incense and meditation cushions.

Their products include ornamental buddhas, essential oils, candles, incense, cards, pottery, world art, rugs & cushions. The shop is part of a chain of retail outlets which together with a wholesale business based in Cambridge (UK) - Windhorse Evolution - form what is probably the largest Buddhist business in the world. Several committed Buddhists have their studio space at the London Buddhist Arts Centre. Globe Community Project is also based here. More information. The rooms are also used for dance events, t'ai chi, exhibitions and as rehearsal space for everything from new Buddhist operas to Shakespeare productions. The space is available to hire. Bodhi Tree host school visits to the London Buddhist Centre and talks and workshops in schools for groups of all ages . They also conduct a programme in schools introducing stilling exercises/meditation as part of a school's culture and daily routine for pupils and staff.
